What to Expect During Your Appointment
To ensure your comfort during a
, we’ll inject a local anesthetic into the soft tissue by your tooth. You’ll feel a small pinch as the anesthetic is administered, but this sensation will quickly give way to numbness.Once a few minutes pass, you should feel numb and comfortable. Next, Dr. Lee will use a dental tool called an elevator to loosen the tooth. He’ll then use dental forceps to extract the tooth from its socket.
Once the tooth is removed, Dr. Lee will instruct you to gently bite down on a gauze pad placed over the affected area. This will help reduce bleeding and encourage your body to form a protective blood clot over the extraction site.
Be sure to carefully follow our aftercare instructions so that you can
