Dental Crowns Dentist Near Me

If you’re experiencing dental pain and discomfort, this could be a sign of tooth decay. For this reason, it’s important that you call our office as soon as possible to schedule an appointment with our dentist in Lebanon, IN. Depending on the extent of decay, Dr. Lee may recommend dental crowns to restore the full health, function, and appearance of your smile.

Here’s what you need to know about the dental crown procedure.

Candidates for Dental Crowns

Dr. Lee may recommend a porcelain dental crown to restore a tooth with significant injury or decay. Unlike other types of restorations, a dental crown covers the entire tooth above the gum line. This restores the tooth’s strength and appearance so you can smile with confidence.

What to Expect When Getting a Dental Crown

In general, the dental crown procedure takes two visits to our office. During your first appointment, Dr. Lee will file down and shape your tooth so there’s enough space for the dental crown to sit. Next, he’ll take impressions of your teeth to send to the lab that will be making your crown. To protect your teeth until your permanent dental crown is ready, Dr. Lee will place a temporary crown over your tooth.

When you return to our office for your second appointment, your permanent dental crown will be ready. Dr. Lee will remove the temporary crown and replace it with the permanent one. However, before bonding the permanent porcelain crown to your tooth, he’ll ensure it’s the proper size, shape, and shade so it blends in with the rest of your teeth.

Once the new porcelain dental crown looks and fits perfectly, Dr. Lee will bond it in place and check your bite. Then, you’ll be ready to show off your new smile to the world.
